The programs we participate in

Wherever an affiliate link appears in an article or tool page, a short on-page note tells you before you click. This page is the full, permanent version of that note.

• Amazon Associates Program — we link to Amazon product and search pages with our tracking tag appended.
• Occasional affiliate or referral programs of other sewing, fabric and craft retailers, disclosed wherever they appear.

What that means for you

An affiliate commission is a small percentage of what you buy, paid by the retailer out of their marketing budget. Your price is the same with our link as without it. We cannot change the price, availability or terms of anything you buy, and your purchase is governed entirely by the retailer's policies.

What that does not mean for our recommendations

Commissions never decide what we recommend. Tools and products are chosen because they earn a place in the workflows we describe — the same criteria apply whether or not a link pays us. When we think a cheap option beats a fancy one, we say so, even when the fancy one pays better. Calculators, guides and glossary entries are never sold: no brand can pay to be featured or to change a review.

We do not use cloaked or misleading affiliate links, we do not place them in emails without marking sponsored content clearly, and we disclose material connections whenever they exist.
