Cookie Policy
Effective date: October 8, 2026 · Applies to all visitors of Bobbin & Form worldwide.
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Bobbin & Form places on your device when you use the site, what they do, how long they last and how you can change your choices at any time. It complements our Privacy Policy and applies worldwide.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include localStorage (a larger store the browser keeps for one site) and pixel tags. In this policy 'cookie' covers all of them.
When we set cookies
On your first visit a banner asks you to accept or decline analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies (the record of your choice itself) are set without consent because they exist to honour it. Analytics cookies are only set after you choose Accept. Choosing Essential only, or closing the banner without accepting, keeps analytics disabled. You can change your mind anytime through the Manage cookies link in the footer, and we will ask again when the banner or policy version is about six months old.
The cookie inventory
Affiliate destinations (such as Amazon) set their own cookies only after you click through to them. Those are governed by the destination site's cookie policy, not this one.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| bf_cookie_consent | First-party, strictly necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, with the policy version you saw. | 6 months |
| _ga | Third-party (Google Analytics), analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors by generating a random, site-scoped identifier. Only set after consent. | 13 months |
| _ga_<property-id> | Third-party (Google Analytics), analytics | Records analytics data about page views, sessions and basic device/region information. Only set after consent. | 2 months |
| localStorage: bf_last_inputs | First-party, functional (optional) | Some calculators may remember your last entries so a returning visit refills them. Nothing leaves your browser; clearing site data removes it. | Until cleared |
Analytics we run
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which calculators and guides are useful, where visitors come from and what to build next. We configure it with IP anonymisation, without ad-personalisation and without exporting data to ads products. Consent is collected before any analytics cookie is set, and declining does not break any feature of the site.
Managing cookies
- Our banner: Accept all or Essential only — and the Manage cookies link in the footer brings the choice back anytime.
- Browser settings: every browser lets you block or delete cookies for a site (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge all have site-level controls). Blocking the consent cookie simply means we will ask you again on each visit.
- Google Analytics opt-out: Google provides a browser add-on (available from Google's 'Google Analytics opt-out' page) that disables analytics collection on any site using it, sitewide, without touching your other cookies.
Changes to this policy
If the set of cookies changes materially we update this page and the consent banner will ask you to confirm again. The effective date at the top reflects the latest version.
