Bobbin & Form provides planning tools and educational information for sewists, quilters and embroidery practitioners. This disclaimer sets out the limits of what you can rely on. In short: our numbers are estimates, our content is educational, and the craft decisions — and their consequences — are yours.
Calculators produce estimates, not guarantees
Every calculator on the Site applies a published formula to the inputs you provide. The formula is a model of real-world behaviour — fabric shrinkage, thread consumption, hoop geometry, seam allowances — and models simplify. Actual results depend on your specific fabric, machine, tension, pattern, skill and tolerances. Always confirm critical numbers against your pattern instructions, a pre-washed swatch, a stitched sample or the manufacturer's data before cutting fabric or committing supplies.
Two people entering identical numbers can legitimately get different real-world outcomes. That is craft variability, not a defect we are liable for.
Educational content, not professional advice
Guides, techniques and glossary entries are written for general information. They are not substitute for instruction from a qualified teacher, a garment professional's assessment of your body or project, a machine technician's inspection, or medical/safety guidance. When content touches potentially dangerous equipment — needles, rotary cutters, irons, machine motors — follow the safety instructions of your equipment's manufacturer, which take precedence over anything on this Site.
No warranty
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of this Site will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content — including ruined fabric, wasted thread, delayed projects, purchase outcomes and any indirect or consequential losses. This does not affect liability that cannot legally be excluded, such as for wilful misconduct or personal injury caused by our negligence.
